Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Silsila Saifia Sialkot ("we", "us") handles your information in the Noor-e-Muhammadia Saifia mobile application and this website (together, the "Service").
We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.
1. Information we collect
a) Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; your password is stored by Firebase in hashed form and is never visible to us.
b) Profile information
You may provide, and we store, the following in your profile:
- Full name
- Phone number
- Address and city
- Whether you are a Mureed
- The name of your Murshid ("Mureed of"), if you provide it
This information is stored in Google Cloud Firestore and is visible to you and to the administrators of Silsila Saifia Sialkot. It is not shared with other members.
c) Location
With your permission, the app reads your device location to calculate accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Your coordinates are sent to the Aladhan prayer-times API to compute the timings for your position. We do not store your location on our servers or share it with anyone else. If you decline the location permission, the app simply falls back to a default city (Sialkot) and all other features continue to work.
d) Photos
Only administrators are asked for access to photos, and only when they choose to attach an image to an announcement. Regular members are never asked for photo access. Any attached image becomes part of that announcement and is visible to members.
e) Information stored only on your device
The following are saved locally on your phone and are never uploaded: your language preference (Urdu/English), your saved city, your Qur'an bookmarks, and which announcements you have dismissed.
f) Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your contacts, messages, call logs, or files.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use advertising identifiers.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
- To show your profile and identify members and mureeds of the Silsila.
- To calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your location.
- To deliver announcements from the Khanqah to members.
- To keep records of the organisation's own income and expenses (entered by administrators — this is organisational data, not member data).
3. Third-party services
The Service relies on the following providers:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Hosting) — stores your account and profile data. See Firebase Privacy.
- Aladhan API (aladhan.com) — receives your coordinates or city to return prayer times.
- AlQuran Cloud (alquran.cloud) — supplies Qur'an text and translations.
- Hadith API via jsDelivr CDN — supplies Hadith text.
These providers may receive your device's IP address as part of a normal network request. We do not send them your name, phone number or address.
4. Permissions the app requests
- Location — to calculate prayer times and Qibla. Optional; you may decline.
- Photos / media — administrators only, to attach an announcement image.
- Internet — to load the Qur'an, Hadith, prayer times and announcements.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated profile data at any time by emailing us at saifiamuhammadia1@gmail.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request. You may also ask an administrator of the Silsila to remove your record.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, protected by security rules that restrict access to you and authorised administrators. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
7. Children
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
8. Your rights
You may access and update your profile at any time from the Profile screen in the app, and you may request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change, and material changes will be communicated in the app.
